With only days to go, Dani and Jack are taken by surprise when an early morning text awakens them and informs them they will soon be whisked out of the villa for their final date.

Dani and Jack, it’s time to get up, up and away as you head out for your final date. #risetotheoccasion #loveisintheair
A dazed and confused Dani tells the Beach Hut:
“Jack has shaken me this morning. I thought ‘ooooh what am I waking up for you know? We’re going on our final date. It’s not so bad is it? I’ve never been woken up for such a lovely surprise, usually I don’t like being woken up.”
When they arrive on the date, a giant hot air balloon awaits them, which prompts further excitement amongst the giddy pair.
Dani gushes:
“I’ve never seen a sunrise. Really beautiful. It’s really romantic. I usually just get taken for dinner babe.”
As they admire the sensational views around them, the pair reflect on their eight weeks together in the villa. Discussing Casa Amor, Jack assures Dani that his head was never going to be turned:
“There was no way in hell that I was ever going to…I missed you…I was like a lovesick puppy. I wasn’t eating properly. Alex was worried about me. I just missed you. That’s when I realised I loved you. That’s why I told you when I came back.”
The pair then speculate over what it will be like meeting one another’s families, as Jack reveals:
“I’m genuinely looking forward to the stuff we’re going to be doing when we’re back home. Do you know what I mean. Obviously you’ll meet my mum. You’ll actually meet my mum, she’s going to be so excited.”
Dani responds:
“Usually a boy’s scared to meet the dad. I’d be scared to meet my mum Jack. She’s hard. Honestly my family are going to love meeting you I promise you.”
The couple then settle for a picnic on the grass.
Discussing their future together, Dani mulls over what obstacles they will face on the outside:
“We’ve had all our tests in here, but what do you reckon the one will be the most when we get out?”
It suddenly dawns on Jack that, with distance being a possible complication, at this point neither has one another’s phone number:
Jack - “I think one of them’s just going to be being away from each other. I can ring you.”
Dani - “You haven’t got my number.”
Jack - “Oh my God, I haven’t actually got my girlfriend’s number.”
Jack then bites the bullet and decides to ask Dani an important question about the next step in their fledgling relationship:
“I’ve got something I want to ask you. I just think this would be amazing. Obviously it’s the next logical step for us.”
Will he get the answer he is looking for though?
Upon their return to the villa, Jack fills the boys in on how the date fared:
“it was unbelievable. It was so sick. It was nice thinking about future stuff, rather than what’s happening right now. For me I was just sort of thinking about what the next step would be for us.”
Teasing what he could possibly have asked Dani, he confesses:
“I’m at that stage in my life now where I want to do that now.”
Meanwhile, as she reflects on the date in the Beach Hut, Dani admits she couldn’t have expected anything more from her Love Island experience:
“For a boy to actually just sit there and look at a future with me just means so much to me and that’s everything I could ask for. The fact that I’ve got that here in Love Island is like ‘wow.’
BUMPY ROADS AHEAD FOR ALEX AND ALEXANDRA?
Alex and Alexandra are second in line for an epic date, but while the afternoon leaves Alexandra on cloud nine, Alex pulls Jack to one side and admits he is still having doubts – can Jack persuade him to give things one last chance?
The couple are both in high spirits when a text arrives teasing details of the day ahead:
Alexandra and Alex, it’s time for your final date. Please get ready to leave the villa. #speedygonzalex #fastlove
An ardent car fanatic, Alex is hoping the date involves his favourite past time:
“Honestly I am absolutely bouncing. I cannot wait to see what this is. I’m so excited. Please be a car one. I’ve missed cars so much. I love cars. I can’t wait. Please let it be like a racing or a car thing. I’d love that.”
Sure enough, they arrive on the date to be presented with a red Ferrari. Charging into the driving seat, an over zealous Alex admits the day couldn’t get much better:
“This is absolutely mental isn’t it? I’m in a beautiful car with an even more beautiful girl. This is perfect.”
Alexandra admits that Alex’s car obsession is yet another attraction for her:
“I have to be honest and say I absolutely love a guy that’s really passionate about something. And I know you’re so passionate about cars. It’s incredibly attractive.”
Searching for a steer on Alex’s feelings towards her, Alexandra asks:
“Did I come in at the right time?”
Alex retorts:
“I think you came in at the perfect time, definitely.”
Focusing on a possible future for the pair of them, Alexandra talks about next steps:
“I’m really looking forward to meeting your friends, your family, and just kind of seeing how our lives will merge together. I think that’s really exciting. I definitely feel like we just need to go outside and have some fun and just be ourselves. I’m so excited to get on the outside with you.”
Alexandra also opens up about her continued concerns over Alex’s distance and lack of affection towards her:
“Sometimes in here I’ve felt a bit hesitant because I know that you’re cautious about not moving too fast and things like that, and I am quite an affectionate person. There’s a little bit of worry inside that when we come out, are you going to be able to give a little bit more?”
Alex replies:
“I hope so. I just want to see where things go and where the journey takes us really. I don’t want to rush at all.”
Offering his own perspective on where things stand between them, Alex tells Alexandra:
“It’s not always easy. I think other couples are trying to rush. I think we’re moving at what’s comfortable for us. I’m happy with that. I think slow and steady wins the race sometimes.”
Back at the villa meanwhile the Islanders discuss Alex and Alexandra’s relationship, with Jack remarking on how different the pair are:
“Alex isn’t a PDA person, doesn’t like it. Outside of here, I don’t think those two would have ever met.”
Laura expresses her own concerns about the two of them:
“You have to want to make that effort for someone, you have to want to touch them, you have to want to not let them go. Time will tell but they are very different. Alexandra does seem to think he’s hilarious which is lovely. When I go back to when she first came in, how excited he was then, and how affectionate he was straightaway, was just so lovely for us to see. I don’t know if it’s still like that, or has it just died down a bit, or are we just used to seeing him and her together now?”
Sure enough, it seems the Islanders’ fears are about to be proved correct when Alex and Alexandra return to the villa.
Alexandra immediately grabs the girls for a debrief on how the day went down:
“It was the most amazing date. I was like ‘this is really sexy.’ He actually was in his element. We’ve had such a nice day. You see glimpses of how it could be on the outside, and I think today’s been really refreshing for the both of us.”
But Alex seeks out Jack for some much-needed advice, as he confesses to his continued apprehension about pursuing things further with Alexandra:
“We just don’t seem to…it doesn’t seem to feel right. I don’t have the right feelings that I should be. The thing is she wants to move at quite a quick pace. She wants lots of affection, and she wants things to move quite quickly. I just can’t match that. I feel like things just aren’t quite right with us.”
Jack is taken aback by Alex’s surprise revelation:
“Mate, I’ll be honest, I’m surprised. I wouldn’t have called it. Watching you two, I thought you were warming up to her.”
But Alex elaborates further:
“It’s so hard to explain but I just don’t have the feelings that I feel I should have. On the outside I do like to take things slower. I wouldn’t want to rush in too quickly.”
Offering a few words of wisdom, Jack tells him:
“I feel like, you said you were giving it a second chance. But I think you could give it more, just a little bit more of a second chance. She hasn’t said to you ‘Alex, do you want to be my boyfriend?’”
It seems Jack is a man in demand as Alexandra also turns to him for guidance as she too frets over Alex’s distance towards her:
“I’m really affectionate. I know he’s compromised so much from how he was in the beginning to how he is now, I know that’s such a huge difference. I don’t want to ask anymore of him because I know he’s come such a long way. But at the same time, I can’t help how I feel. We’ve had nights where we’ve been really kissy and cuddly and then we’ve had some nights where we don’t even say ‘good night’. I don’t know if it’s because he’s holding back. Maybe he doesn’t feel as strongly about me, maybe he’s unsure, maybe he doesn’t want to move too fast. I don’t want to put pressure on him because I know he is the way he is and I don’t want to scare him away.”
Talking to the Beach Hut, Jack admits that at present he’s the only one with full clarity on the situation:
“I know more about their relationship than them two do as whole. I know exactly how Alexandra’s feeling, Alex doesn’t, and I know exactly how Alex is feeling but Alexandra doesn’t. What do you do?”
Can Jack persuade the unlucky in love doctor to give things one final chance?
THIRD TIME LUCKY FOR LAURA
Laura and Paul’s relationship goes from strength to strength when they are the next couple to leave the villa on an epic date, a romantic dinner for two with a sunset backdrop.
A text arrives telling Laura and Paul to prepare for the evening ahead:
Laura and Paul, it’s time for your final date, please get ready to leave the villa #betterlatethannever #kissmebabyonemoretime
As they arrive at their picturesque date setting, Paul declares:
“This is hands down the most beautiful setting for a date.”
When Paul asks Laura if she thinks she has finally found what she was looking for, after two near misses with Wes and new Jack, she proclaims:
“I did the right thing for myself because I am so picky with who I date. I wanted to be out of my comfort zone and try something new. Wes is 20, Jack was 22. I tried. Obviously I was sad when it ended at the time. Now I just think ‘it wasn’t right.’ I just thought my time was up. I just didn’t expect to have another chance. You are my type. Looks wise, everything about you is what I would usually go for. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever been with someone that’s so stable and reliable. I know that sounds a bit boring and you’re totally not boring but that’s what I want.”
Paul then seizes a moment to tell Laura where his head is at, before telling her he feels they’re ready to put a label on things:
“Getting to know you more and more I’ve realised we are compatible, we get each other’s jokes, we understand each other. I had no idea and I didn’t know what I was walking into, and meeting you, every day I was like ‘wow, we are compatible’ more and more each day. We’ve got to that stage where we have been dating, we’re sleeping in the same bed every night. Essentially we are exclusive. It would be nice to continue this and to progress this afterwards. I want to. It would just be nice to know you want to.”
Laura is unhesitant in her response:
“Of course I do. I am so happy you’re there.”
KAZ GETS THE L WORD JITTERS
As the girls preoccupy themselves with a conversation about who believes in love at first sight, Kaz opens up about her true feelings for Josh, and admits she’s close to uttering those all important three words.
“Sometimes I feel like in the past I have been confused thinking I’m in love when I’m actually in lust. Love actually can hurt as well. Sometimes you realise you’re actually in love with someone when they hurt you. Do you know what girls I think that’s why I’m scared to tell Josh. Because it just scares me. That whole concept. But I know that (whispers) I love him.”
And in the Beach Hut, Kaz admits she’s still toying over what to do:
“I just know. I know that I love him. Obviously I need to tell him. But it can make you very vulnerable and I don’t want to rush things with Josh.”
Is another Love Island couple about to take the next step?
