If you can remember as far back as Christmas, you'll probably be able to recall the Aldi ads that featured an adorable carrot called Kevin.

Kevin appeared in all of the supermarket's festive ads, and was also sold as a soft toy.

During one ad, Kevin made a reference to the Sixth Sense saying, “I see dead parsnips”, while bottles of Aldi's cheap spirits were displayed on-screen.

But the ad's landed Kevin in hot water as a Grinch has reported it to the UK's Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).

The ASA received just one complaint but now Aldi can no longer air it.

The person complained that the cuteness of Kevin appealed too much to children and since the ad was about alcohol it was grossly inappropriate.

The ASA agreed and Kevin's been given the chop.

It's not yet clear if Kevin will be reprising his role this Christmas.
