Status red weather warning extends countrywide

People are being warned to remain wherever they are until tomorrow evening as a blizzard hits the country.

The status red snow-ice warning has been extended countrywide.

Significant snowfall will start in the south before moving across Ireland, with the east worst affected.

It's thought up to a metre of snow could fall in eastern areas.

There's a red snow-ice warning for Munster and Leinster in place until tomorrow, Friday March 2nd at 6pm.

While there's a red snow-ice warning in place for Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal until tomorrow, Friday March 2nd at 6am.
