WhatsApp to stop working on older phones from New Year's Day

WhatsApp is going to stop working on older smartphones from January 1st.

The company behind the messaging app is pulling support for older operating systems.

The phones which will be affected include the iPhone 3 and BlackBerry 10.

WhatsApp says most users won't be affected.

The full list of unsupported mobile operating systems is:

• BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10

• Nokia S40

• Nokia Symbian S60

• Android 2.1 and Android 2.2

• Windows Phone 7

• iPhone 3GS/iOS 6
