Reports indicate almost HALF of the working population felt deflated upon returning to work this month.

According to research conducted by iReach, that first alarm back at work after the Christmas break may well be the hardest of the year...

A survey of 1000-Irish adults indicated a whopping 47% of workers felt deflated when they returned to work recently - including 50% of Women and 44% of Men.

60% of those surveyed blamed the end of Christmas fun and festivities as the main factor for their Winter Blues.

While lack of finances due to heavy holiday spending and extended hours of darkness also featured prominently.

And it seems the older you get, the worse your case of blues becomes...

Just 21% of people aged 18-34 years old claimed to be feeling the January strain.

However, that number increased to 35% of  35—54 year old's. While 38% of those over the age of 55 said they were feeling glum.

The good news? We're almost half way there!

Maybe this is what Bon Jovi was talking about when he recorded Livin' on a Prayer all those years ago...
