Tayto Park is set for a brand new rollercoaster.

The theme park in County Meath has secured planning permission for a €14million steel coaster. It's set to be the same height as the park's iconic 32m-high Cú Chulainn - but it will be 400m longer.

The Irish Sun reports that Meath County Council have given the go-ahead for the project. That's despite a small number of objections from the locals.

The attraction, called Coaster 21 in the planning documents and is hoped to boost visitor numbers to Tayto Park from 630,000 in 2019 to 725,000 in 2023.

The park hope to start building the rollercoaster next year and open it by 2021.
