Is this not an unspoken rule?

A man has taken to Reddit to ask if he's right or wrong in a certain situation.

He describes a recent visit to the cinema with his girlfriend and her two friends.

And he was left not wanting to ever repeat the visit with those people.

In the post, he explains how they were chatting throughout the ads and trailers.

Okay, so far not the worst...

But the frustration hit when they didn't stop talking throughout the movie.

Once they left, his girlfriend said going to the cinema was great and they should do it more often.

To which the man informed her he had no intention of ever doing that.

Well, it didn't go down well as he got the silent treatment all night then.

But most Reddit users are agreeing with him and saying it's an unwritten rule that you shut your mouth once the movie starts.

Here's some of the responses to his question: "Am I the a*****e?"

"She was rude. A comment or two* when something big happens is fine. But talking is not."

"Your girlfriend and her friend are the reason I will never go to a cinema again. It’s SO annoying when people won’t stop talking. Everyone had paid to be there. "

"It’s an unwritten rule that when the film starts you stop talking and watch the film. Your gf and her friend are what ruins going to the cinema."
