UPDATE: Gardaí have confirmed that Lisa Smith is to be charged with terrorism offences and will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin this morning.

She was arrested on Sunday after she arrived in Ireland having been deported from Turkey along with her two-year-old daughter.

EARLIER: Lisa Smith is due to appear in court in Dublin this morning.

The 38-year-old has been in Garda custody since she arrived on a flight from Turkey on Sunday with her two-year-old daughter.

The former member of the Defence Forces has been questioned in connection with terrorism related offences.

Smith converted to Islam and moved to Syria in 2015 to live under ISIS rule.

She will be charged before the District Court this morning.

Gardaí have confirmed they intend to bring charges against Lisa Smith.

It not yet clear what charge the woman will face.
