Well that was tense...

So Leanne's Love Island journey has come to an end.

In a dramatic recoupling on tonight's episode, Leanne left the Villa as her former flame, Mike, chose to couple up with newly-single Sophie instead.

Here's what Leanne had to say in her exit interview:

How would you sum up your time on Love Island?

“Unreal – a rollercoaster! Just, amazing!”

How do you feel about Mike not picking you in that final Recoupling?

“Me and Mike, we didn’t work. I feel he’s justified in what he did by picking Sophie. That’s a big thing to do – it’s a bold move to make.

“But I feel like he’s disregarded the two weeks we spent together and I feel like sending me home was a bit of a kick in the teeth, but it might also be my karma for dumping him… Beforehand, we had a good connection as friends, I would have thought he would have had that loyalty with me more. But he can crack on and I’m happy for him, I want him to be happy.”

Were you expecting him to choose to couple up with Sophie?

“I was 100 per cent expecting it. I just knew I was going home.”

Your relationship with Mike didn’t necessarily work but your relationships with the girls definitely did as you all seemed so close...

“My relationship with the girls was so important. In the Villa, you don’t have your friends, you don’t have your family, you don’t have your phone… You underestimate how important they are and they’re really special, all the relationships in there. If I was down, they’d cheer me up. I really do wish them all the best.”

Who would you like to win?

“I would love for Jess and Luke M to win. I love Jess and Luke M! I feel like he’s one of my closest friends in there – together they’re amazing. And Siânnise and Luke T, I’ve got a lot of love for both of them. Paige and Finn, too! There’s a lot of strong couples in there!”

Do you think anyone is playing a game?

“Maybe Mike now… it’ll be easier for him to crack on and do his thing without me there.”

Does Mike have a chance romantically with Sophie?

“Oh, be serious… There’s absolutely no way! I think they’re just good friends and they’re in a friendship couple.”

Were you surprised Sophie didn’t leave the Villa with Connor?

“I can 100 per cent see why she didn’t. They did both have strong feelings for each other. But this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I don’t see why she should have left with him. She will see him soon enough.”

What’s your stand out memory of being in the Villa?

“I learnt how to swim! It was really fun.”

What was the most challenging part of being in the Villa?

“After you break up with someone, you don’t normally live with the person… The Villa is a small place when you don’t want to be around someone. It can make it awkward.”

Did you learn anything about yourself whilst in the Villa?

“So many things – the things I need to improve on, like patience. Obviously being open. I feel like it’s confirmed a lot for me. It was a huge learning curve. I’ll miss that villa life.”

Would you go back in if you could?

“100 per cent! I’ve still got things to say in there. I would 100 per cent go back in.”

Has Love Island made you think you want to look for love again?

“Yeah, I know what I want and what I need now. I feel like it will be easier for me to be open minded. Love Island makes you way more open minded and open to try things, which I’m going to take with me on the outside, that’s a good thing.”

Here are the new Love Island couples after tonight's show:

  • Finn & Paige
  • Luke T & Siannise
  • Callum & Shaughna
  • Luke M & Jess
  • Wallace & Rebecca
  • Nas & Demi
  • Mike & Sophie

Love Island is back on Virgin Media One from 9pm tomorrow night.
