Instagram is set to roll back a controversial update after backlash from users.
It saw videos and recommended post feature more on feeds compared to posts from friends.
The likes of Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian and Chrissy Tiegan joined the criticism, leading to pressure on bosses to reverse the changes.
It's not just celebrities who've been unhappy with the direction Instagram is going, the replies under a post by CEO Adam Mosseri on Twitter tell you all you need to know about public opinion:
👋🏼 There’s a lot happening on Instagram right now.
I wanted to address a few things we’re working on to make Instagram a better experience.

I want to see my friends pictures, not the random videos or ads my FRIENDS can’t y’all listen?!

The full screen experience is awful. The endless ads are awful. I don’t want to view or create videos. I want to post and see photos. I don’t want IG telling me what I should be watching. I want to see photos from the people I choose to follow. All this “evolution” is a big fail.

The head of Instagram has said this will now be phased out over the next week or two.
Mosseri said that 'if we're not failing every once in a while, we're not thinking big enough'.
