New digital stamps can be purchased on the An Post app.
iRadio Stock Image.An Post have launched digital stamps and a new notified delivery service.
An envelope or postcard can now be sent with the help of a unique code on your phone.
Larger envelopes will also fall under the new digital stamp initiative.
It'll cost 3 euro and 80 cents to send an A4-sized package with the digital code.
Regular envelopes are priced at 2 euro, with digital stamps issued via the An Post app on iPhone or Android.
Head of Communications, Anne McHugh, says it's convenient for those on the go:
"Its a stamp in seconds so you'll never be stuck for a stamp.
"You'll never have an excuse anymore that you don't have a stamp to send that card or that invoice or that last minute thing.
"Sometimes you're out and about and you say you'd love to send that to somebody but I don't have a stamp.
"Some people just don't go near the post office or if they do, they might have the wrong wallet, the wrong bag and they don't have a stamp. Thats who these digital stamps are for."
