Ireland's past Eurovision winners are pushing for next year's edition of the competition to be held in Belfast.

Cities across the UK are bidding to host the singing extravaganza, but the likes of Johnny Logan, Linda Martin and Niamh Kavanagh want the event to take place in the North.

The UK is hosting the annual bonanza in place of Ukraine, which continues to be invaded by Russian forces.

Past winner Dana believes the city is an ideal location, as its inhabitants empathise and understand the Ukrainian people:

'I think we all agree Belfast is the ideal place to have Eurovision 2023 and I just wanted to get their feeling on it and without exception, they all agreed.

The comments "brilliant idea" and"it would be a wonderful place to have it".'
