A post-mortem will take place today.
The body of a man has been found in the Slieve Bloom mountains in Co Laois.
The 44-year-old was discovered yesterday afternoon at around 1pm in an area known as The Cut near Clonaslee.
Gardaí have taken the body to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Portlaoise where a post-mortem examination by the State Pathologist will take place today.
Inquiries are ongoing and gardai say the course of investigation will be determined by the outcome of the post-mortem.
