In a statement a spokesperson for Brown Thomas Arnotts said that their utmost priority remains the health, safety and wellbeing of their customers, team members and the wider community.
The stores will be closed from 5PM today until further notice but customers can still shop online.
A spokesperson told RTÉ News that some staff members will be required to support those digital operations.
