Gardaí have named the three children whose bodies were found in a house in west county Dublin last night.
They are brothers Conor, aged nine, Darragh, aged seven, and their three-year-old sister, Carla McGinley.
Their bodies were found at around a quarter to eight when gardaí responded to a call at Parson’s Court in Newcastle.
A female relative, in her 40s, was found at the scene and is currently receiving medical attention in Tallaght University Hospital.
The bodies of the three children have been removed to the City Morgue, where a post-mortem examination will take place later today.
A family liaison officer is in contact with their father and the extended family.
Neighbours in the Newcastle area are coming to terms with the shock.
