China has recorded it's lowest death toll in a day since January.

For the second straight day, China has reported no new local cases of COVID-19.

The deadly virus originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan late last year, and has now spread globally.

And the number of deaths in China has also slow, with just three new fatalities reported by The National Health Commission - the lowest daily increase since it started publishing figures in January.

There have been nearly 81,000 infections in China, but fewer than 7,000 people remain sick with Covid-19 disease.

In Ireland The HSE says the next 7 to 10 days are crucial in the fight against the spread of COVID-19.

More restrictions may be necessary if the rise in the number of cases in Ireland doesn't start to level off.

There are now 557 cases in Ireland, after 191 new ones were confirmed last night, along with a third death.
