These CCTV cameras could pose a security-risk

Chinese-made CCTV cameras intalled in Leinster House could be reporting back to China and pose a security-risk.
And authorities in Leinster House have been asked to urgently remove this brand of surveillance cameras.
The Irish Council for Civil Liberties has sent a letter to Government and opposition warning about Chinese-state backed video surveillance company Hikvision.
The ICCL says the cameras are positioned at locations where they can "capture video of TDs, Senators and staff, and their private conversations."
The UK, US and Denmark have already banned Hikvision's use, and the European Parliament removed the company's cameras in 2021.
The Independent reports that last week the Australian government announced it planned to remove more than 900 Chinese-made security cameras from government buildings across the country.
Hikvision has previously dismissed any links to Chinese government spying and has argued it has been categorised unfairly and unjustly alongside companies like Huawei.
