A further 50 deaths linked to Covid-19 have been confirmed and 3,498 new cases.
There's also been a further increase in the number of people with the virus in hospital and intensive care.
Of the 50 deaths confirmed today, all of them occurred this month and those who've died range in age from 45 to 96 years old.
There are now 1,850 people with Covid in hospital, with 118 admissions since yesterday, and 184 patients in intensive care.
The 14 day incidence has risen to over 1,500 per 100 thousand - meaning 1 in 65 people have had the virus in the last two weeks.
The Chief Medical Officer has issued a warning over the new Brazil variant.
There's no evidence of it here yet but anyone who's travelled from the country in the last 14 days is being asked to self-isolate and refer themselves for a coronavirus test.
There are some positive signs - with the average number of close contacts for each confirmed case now at 2.3, down from 6 at the end of December.
Deputy CMO Ronan Glynn says this "enormous effort" is the reason case numbers are starting to fall - and that people need to keep it up to protect themselves and their loved ones.
