Have you noticed your car a bit dustier than usual the past few days?
We’ve had lots of people getting in touch after noticing sand-like dust on windscreens recently ?
A southerly airflow pulled up a dust cloud from the Sahara, with some of this dust deposited over Ireland over the last few days.#SaharanDust

There's been some lovely weather for the past number of days, but you might notice your car to be getting dirty than usual.
We're actually experiencing a fairly rare 'Saharan' weather event has caused dust particles from the desert to sweep north across Europe.
The result is not only a lot of very dirty cars, but some spectacular weather conditions and dust storms across the continent.

The dust is set to leave Ireland in the next few days, but there's good news for the general weather outlook!
Met Eireann says current indications suggest high pressure remains in charge through to the end of the weekend and it will continue mainly dry and sunny for Saturday and Sunday with light variable or easterly breezes.
Dust levels in the air are set to rise further over the coming hours with #Saharandust remaining in the air over the coming week. Might be best to leave getting the car washed for a few days. Keep a eye out for some beautiful sunrises and sunsets over the coming days. #ireland pic.twitter.com/jM3E288Jux
