Diesel users are feeling the pinch over petrol drivers.
Diesel users are more likely to be out of pocket than petrol drivers.
That's because of a 4 per cent hike in diesel costs in October compared to last month.
Diesel now sits at its second-highest monthly average price ever.
Paddy Comyn, Head of Communications with the AA, explains why the prices between the two fuels vary:
"On one side there is almost a surplus of petrol across Europe and that means the price of petrol has stabled but the price of diesel has started to become reasonably restricted because of countries moving away from Russian oil.
"The result is that diesel has increased by significant numbers such as 4% or around 20 cent per litre."
