Boy (8) attacked by two Rottweiler dogs in Dublin passes away

The two Rottweilers have since been put down.

An eight-year-old boy who was attacked by two dogs in Dublin has died.

The tragic incident happened at the child's home in Tallaght yesterday afternoon.

He was being treated for his injuries at Crumlin Children's Hospital but passed away this morning.

The two Rottweilers involved in the attack were the family's pets and have since been put down.

He was rushed to hospital at around 4pm yesterday after being attacked bythe  canines.

He was brought to Tallaght Hospital but was later transferred to Children's Health Ireland in Crumlin for treatment.

A garda spokesperson said: "The male child (8) who was seriously injured yesterday Sunday 22nd March 2020 following a reported attack by a number of dogs in the Tallaght area passed away this morning Monday 23rd March 2020 at Children's Health Ireland (CHI) at Crumlin."

A full investigation into the incident is under way.
