A young nurse from County Donegal has died in a freak accident in Melbourne, Australia.
A second Donegal woman was injured, but not seriously.
26-year-old Mary Ellen Molloy from Ardara, was working in Australia as a nurse at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
She died after a tree fell on a car she was travelling in, yesterday afternoon.
Another young woman was injured - but her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Ms Molloy is from a well known GAA family and her local GAA club says the parish is numbed by the news.
It's paying tribute to 'a beautiful young woman with a permanent smile who lit up every room she walked into'.
The Department of Foreign Affairs says it's aware of the incident and is providing consular assistance to the family.
Repatriation and funeral arrangements have yet to be confirmed.
