Man (20s) arrested for stealing €846 worth of fuel from filling stations

The man was arrested at his home.

A man has been arrested in after a series of ''drive offs'' from petrol stations in Kildare and Dublin.

The man, in his 20s, deliberately drove off after filling his car with petrol numerous times between Feburary and April.

A total of €846.51 worth of petrol was stolen during that time.

Gardaí arrested the man at his home and he was taken to Ballymun Garda Station, where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Full admissions were made by the man and he's expected to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Thursday morning.

The combined value of fuel taken is said to be €846.51.
