Sad news about a man who brought us so much joy
Actor Ed Asner, the man behind the iconic grouchy grandpa Carl from Disney/ Pixar's Up has sadly passed away at 91.
The news was announced by his family over the weekend in an emotional post.
We are sorry to say that our beloved patriarch passed away this morning peacefully. Words cannot express the sadness we feel. With a kiss on your head- Goodnight dad. We love you.

As well as Carl, Asner made many other appearances on the silver screen, including playing Santa in the classic festive hit 'Elf':
Many others will know Asner for his roles in "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "Lou Grant".
