A teenage girl has become the latest person to die on the country's roads this weekend.
She was killed after the car she was travelling in hit a wall near Oughterard in Co. Galway last night.
It brings to seven the number of people killed in crashes since Friday evening.
The first fatalities this weekend happened on Friday at around 7pm, when a car and a jeep crashed on the N55 near Ballinagh in Co.Cavan.
A man and woman in their 60s were pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the jeep was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Then in the early hours of Saturday morning three people died after a two car crash on the N1 northbound in Co.Louth.
A man in his 20s was also seriously injured in the crash.
Meanwhile, a male pedestrian in his 20s has also died after a crash in Co. Monaghan between Clones and Monaghan on the N54.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to any of the accidents, or anyone who has dashcam footage, to contact them.
