A motorcyclist has been killed in a crash in Co. Offaly.
It happened shortly after 10am on the R401 near Edenderry.
A man in his 20s was seriously injured when his motorcycle left the road.
Emergency services attended the scene but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The man's body has been taken to the mortuary at Tullamore Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
Collision investigators are examining the crash site and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and for anyone with dash cam footage of the route at the time of the crash to contact Tullamore Garda Station.
