Úna, Ciara and Saoirse Bowden's funeral mass has taken place in Donegal this afternoon.

Ciara and Saoirse were aged just 14 and 10.

The mother and two daughters died last Tuesday in a crash on the N17 outside Claremorris in Mayo.

Basketball jerseys were among the gifts brought to the altar.

Speaking at the mass, Fr. Eamonn Kelly said there are no words to take away the pain of the tragedy.

David Bowden, the husband and father of the victims, wrote today's eulogy, which was read by his brother Andrew.

"It is hard to put into words what the feeling is to lose your whole family in one go".

"I'm crying so hard as I write this".

"The best is to hope and pray that they are at peace".
