Cherry Orchard this evening. People cheering wanting car thieves to ram the Gardai. So many decent people being held hostage in their own community by an absolute minority.
These are Japanese imported cars. Easy to steal. If you have one,get an immobiliser & alarm. pic.twitter.com/Jkm3Lvz1rK— ?Cllr Alan Hayes - Peace Commissioner (@AlanHayesDublin) September 19, 2022
The Justice Minister says any assault on Gardai is 'unacceptable' and a joyriding incident in Dublin last night will be investigated.
It's after a Garda car was rammed in Cherry Orchard, with videos online showing an audience formed to watch on.

But Sinn Fein Councillor Daithí Doolan has condemned the behaviour, and says the community has been 'abandoned' by Minister McEntee and senior Garda management.
He's slammed the Garda Commissioner, who previously said there aren't any 'no go' zones for officers in Dublin:
"That clearly shows that Drew Harris does not operate in reality. Drew Harris needs to wake up and smell the coffee, for that community last night, they felt abandoned and that is no fault of the local Gardaí."
"I'm in regular contact with the local Gardaí, we recently had Minister Roderic O'Gorman out in Cherry Orchard visiting the area, the Gardaí were present, we brought him to some of the sites that were in the video."
