Hundreds of people have tried to help a Dublin grandad reconnect with his childhood sweetheart.
Gerry Malone, who’s originally from the Liberties, wants to make amends with an old flame after they parted ways over 5 decades ago.

55 years ago this Dublin man parted ways with his childhood sweetheart after he couldn’t afford a Christmas present for his first love.
Now two marriages, 4 kids and 3 grandchildren later, Gerry posted on Facebook looking to see if anyone can put him in touch with “Catherine from the Liberties”.
Although five decades have past, Catherine has stayed on Gerry’s mind.
Gerry, who recently beat prostate cancer, says he’s not particularly interested in getting back together with his former flame but just wants to make amends, a lifetime after they parted ways.
