The Tánaiste has suggested Ireland could significantly expand the number of countries on the mandatory hotel quarantine list.
The UK announced mandatory quarantine for people entering England from more than 30 countries, compared to the two identified here.
The government has said it hopes legislation giving effect to hotel quarantine will come before the Dáil next week.
Tánaiste Leo Varadkar says it could be expanded to be closer to the UK restrictions.
