Could the tide be turning for pricey premiums?

People should demand reductions in their insurance premiums following a High Court ruling on personal injury claims.
The Alliance for Insurance Reform says companies should now offer cheaper cover following the legal decision.
A number of challenges had been brought against new Personal Injuries Guidelines published last year, which reduce the amount people can claim.
Data from the Personal Injuries Assessment Board last year found the value of general damages had reduced by 46 per cent compared to 2020.
Director of the Alliance for Insurance Reform, Peter Boland, says companies should pass on these savings to customers:
"Consumers should expect, in fact demand, reductions in motor and house insurance premiums on the back of this decision and increasingly small businesses, charities, community and voluntary groups, sports and cultural organisations, should be looking for reductions".
