Leaving Certificate students have until Tuesday at 6pm to register whether they want to sit the exams, receive predicted grades, or both.

All students must register, enter their subjects and confirm how they wish to be assessed.

Education Minister Norma Foley is urging this year's Leaving Cert students to opt to sit the State exams in June.

Foley says students should give themselves "the best opportunity" and sign up for both.

She also wants to reassure students about the arrangements for oral exams.

She said the oral exams will take place within the schools but will not be graded by the teachers "on the ground".

The orals will be recorded and sent to the State Examinations Commission to be marked externally.

Meanwhile, fifth year students are to receive accommodations in Leaving Cert 2022 due to the loss of in-person learning.

Fifth year pupils will return to school on Monday after missing out on almost five months of in-class time since the start of the academic year.
