Some areas will reach 22 degrees!

People are being urged to take care in the sun today, as the UV index will be moderate to high.

Temperatures may reach 22 degrees in places this afternoon.

It'll be cooler along coastal areas though, and there may be some showers in the north.

But, in general, Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather says people should be prepared for the high temperatures.

"There'll be lots of sunshine so don't forget the sun cream, because there was a lot of red-looking faces last night," he said.

He said though if you're heading to the beach, it'll be a little cooler, so bring a light hoodie or jacket.

Warnings have also been issued not to barbecue or light campfires when visiting beauty spots today.

Dublin Fire Brigade says nearly all wildfires are caused by human activity.

They're also urging people not to barbecue inside, on a balcony or on wooden decking.

They're advising to have a bucket of water nearby, and don't leave the barbecue unattended.

Apart from all that, get out there and enjoy!!
