This brings the total job cuts at the Irish office to 180.

Microsoft has announced a second wave of job cuts in Ireland.

It comes after the company confirmed 120 layoffs last month.

The company employs more than 3,500 people in Ireland across a variety of roles including operations, sales, engineering and product development.

It is understood that the 60 roles are part of the global cuts announced in January, which took some time to work through and implement locally in-line with all employment law requirements.

It is understood that staff have been informed of the plans.

The Minister for Trade, Enterprise and Employment Simon Coveney has also been notified.

There has been a series of job loss announcements in the tech sector in recent months from firms such as Twitter, Meta, Stripe, Amazon, Intel, Microsoft, Google, Salesforce, PayPal, HubSpot and Dell.
