Unifying all four world lightweight titles, the Bray boxer secured a narrow victory on points over Delfine Persoon at Madison Square Garden.
Taylor claimed Persoon's WBC title, having previously won the IBF, WBA and WBO belts.
It's the Belgian's second loss in 45 fights, while Taylor now has a record of 14 wins in professional boxing, with no losses.
