The body of a man in his 80s was found at a house in Co. Mayo on Sunday.
(Source: Wikimedia Commons)A man in his 60s has been charged with the murder of 83-year-old John Brogan at his home in Pheasant Hill, Cloonkeen, Castlebar, Co. Mayo, on Sunday.
Kevin McHale of Annagh, Castlebar, has appeared before Castlebar District Court today.
The court heard evidence of arrest, charge and caution, and the accused made no reply to the charge after being cautioned.
There was no application for bail and Judge Fiona Lydon remanded Mr. McHale in custody.
She also said he should receive whatever medical and psychiatric intervention deemed necessary.
