Conor, Darragh and Carla McGinley were found dead in their family home last Friday.

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of three children in Newcastle in west Dublin.

The woman, who's in her 40s, was found by Gardaí at the scene and had since been receiving medical attention at Tallaght University Hospital.

She's currently being detained at Clondalkin Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The bodies of 9-year-old Conor, 7-year-old Darragh, and 3-year-old Carla McGinley were found at their home in Parson's Court on Friday. Today, their father Andrew released a statement describing his devastation, grief and anguish.

Meanwhile, residents in Newcastle have set up a GoFundMe campaign to support the McGinley family. Over 8,000 euro has been raised so far by hundreds of donors.

The page has been set up by a member of Newcastle Community, along with the Newcastle Community Group. They say they are in touch with the family, who are aware of the campaign and are "very thankful".

According to the group, Andrew McGinley's employer SODEXO is covering the funeral costs.
