Those on the minimum wage will notice an increase to their pay from today.
It's going up by 80 cent per hour, from €10.50 to €11.30.
An employee working a 39-hour week can now expect their pay to increase by more than 120 euro per month.
Caroline Reidy, Managing Director of The HR Suite, says it's a welcome move, as the government prepares to introduce a Living Wage in 2026:
The minimum wage always is taking into account what's happening in the economy, and also, from a government perspective, there's been a strong shift towards the 'living wage' and encouraging that to become something that we are aspiring towards."
