The final report for the Commission into Mother and Baby Homes will be published in the second week of January.
The Children's Minister Roderic O'Gorman revealed to the Dail he'll look for Cabinet approval on the week of January 11th.
The minister received the report, which is around 3,000 pages long, at the end of October. He committed to review the report with survivors and their families before it's published.
He also added that publishing it close to Christmas would not be appropriate, which is why it'll be published in January.
Meanwhile, a planning application to build an apartment block on the site of a home in Cork has received backlash. Historian Catherine Corless fears there could hundreds of babies buried on the site in Bessborough and says the site needs to be thoroughly excavated.
Minister Roderic O'Gorman says he's aware of that application, and finds it 'concerning'.
