Three people are in custody this afternoon after a man was shot dead in Dublin yesterday.

Just after midnight on Monday morning, a man was gunned down on Knocknarea Road in Drimnagh.

He's been named as 20-year-old Josh Itseli.

Gardaí responding found two cars at the scene which looked to be involved in a crash.

Armed Gardaí then located three people and arrested them.

Two men in their early 20s and a teenage boy are being questioned at Garda stations in Dublin.

A suspected pipe bomb was found close to the scene on Knocknarea Court and the Army's bomb disposal team was called in to make it safe.

A number of cars on Knocknarea Road were also damaged.

A Ford Focus which was found close by has also been seized as part of the investigation.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to come forward, especially those in the area that may have CCTV or dash cam footage.

This marks the first gangland murder in Ireland in 2024.
