The price freeze comes just in time before the new school term begins

Penneys has announced a price freeze on more than 1,000 kids' products in store in response to the rising cost of living.

Below are the prices for some essential products for kids aged between 1.5 and 8 years old that will be frozen.

  • Long sleeve T-shirt: from €2.30
  • Sweatshirt: from €6.00
  • Dresses: from €6.00
  • Jeans: from €8.00
  • Padded Jacket: from €18
  • Briefs: from €5.00 for a 10 pack
  • Socks: from €3.50 for a 10 pack

The prices are set to remain in place for the autumn, just before the schools start.

Head of Penneys Ireland and NI stated: “Offering the very best value to our Penneys customers has always been at the heart of our brand, and it’s more important than ever today,"

"Kids grow fast, and replacing their clothing is an essential task for families – we hope that by protecting the prices on our essential kids’ items we can help in some small way, particularly as we enter the costly back to school season.”

A number of protests have taken place across the country to show their upset at the cost of living crisis.
