Perth in Australia has gone into a 5-day lockdown after a positive Covid-19 case emerged.

The positive case was a security guard who works at a quarantine hotel in the city.

As a result of the test, the city's two million residents have to stay at home.

They can only leave their homes for essential reasons.

It's Perth's first community transmission case in the city in almost 10 months.

Australia have impressively managed to curtail the Covid-19 virus.

Before this positive case, they had a two week run of zero coronavirus cases.

Schools, restaurants, bars, cinemas and gyms in Perth have been forced to close as result.

A scheduled re-opening of schools in the city has also been delayed.
