Students will finally have clarity this afternoon.
Class rankings and results in previous exams will form part of students' predicted grade for the Leaving Cert.
The written exams are set to be cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Over 60 thousand students have spent the last few months studying for exams they weren't sure were actually going to happen.
However they will have certainty later today with the the Leaving Cert widely tipped to be cancelled and replaced with predictive grades.
The cabinet is meeting at the moment to discuss the alternative plan.
It's believed that class rankings and how students have performed in previous tests will form part of their overall grade.
Clarity is something students have repeatedly called for and it appears they will finally have it when plans are announced later this afternoon.
