Two Ukrainian refugees who had their car broken into in Dublin have thanked the Irish people for their support.

The couple Anass and Olena fled Kyiv due to the war - and loaded their belongings into their car.

The contents were stolen the Travelodge in Ballymun yesterday morning.

Over 10,000 euro has been raised for the couple through a GoFundMe appeal.

Anass said the experience would not change his mind about the kindness of the Irish people:

"It doesn't change anything about how we feel about Ireland and the Irish people. We've traveled in the past around many countries and trust me, I would not be exaggerating if I said that the Irish people are the kindest people I've ever seen in my life".
