Hoteliers say staff shortages is one of the main reasons hotels are choosing to house refugees instead of trading.

It comes as the Tánaiste has said a difficult spring and summer is on the cards for those in the tourism sector.
Increased air fares and the cost-of-living crisis were among the reasons Tánaiste Leo Varadkar gave, when asked why he thinks the tourism industry is in for a rocky 2023.
However, he said the 39 thousand refugees currently living in hotel accommodation is not the only problem.
Patrick Treacy, General Manager of Treacy's West County Hotel in County Clare says this shortage is one of the reasons hotels made contracts with the government.
While West Waterford Hotelier Aidan Quirke from the Round Tower in Ardmore believes many of the businesses accommodating refugees, will continue to do so.
According to the Examiner 360 of the 500 hotels housing refugees will need to renew their state contracts by December, with many expected to seek an extension.
