Shannon Airport has confirmed the end of the rule for outbound passengers.

Shannon Airport has scrapped the 100ml liquid restriction rule for outbound passengers.
It has been in place since 2006 to guard against terrorism but new technology has facilitated the change.
However passengers are being reminded that if they transit through another airport the old rules may apply as part of the onward journey.
Joan Scales, who is editor of Travel2Ireland.ie -says it'll save passengers a lot of time:
"Whatever's in your cabin bag stays in your cabin bag. You put your coat in the tray, put your bag on top and everything is scanned. You too go through a 3D scanner as well."
