
A polar vortex has blasted the north-east US with rare May snowfall and record low temperatures.
Snow hasn't been seen this late in the season in New York City's famous Central Park since 1977.

Parts of New England have had up to ten inches, while temperatures at the region's highest peak - Mount Washington - got down to minus 30.
