The professional networking site now allows users to describe themselves as a Stay at Home Parent.

A new feature on LinkedIn allows users to choose a Stay at Home Parent option in the job description section.
The measure aims to let people accurately reflect their time spent away from the workforce.
The list includes Stay at Home Mom, Stay at Home Dad, Parent and Homemaker.
The Stay at Home Parents' Association Ireland has welcomed the move, saying that until now, gaps in employment record have served to further isolate and humiliate Stay at Home parents.
Green Party Senator Pauline O'Reilly, who is the founder of the Association, says these parents often feel there is a lack of respect for their role:
"It's incredibly difficult to make ends meet, but apart from that, it's this feeling of a lack of respect because the work is unpaid, but also because it's quite invisible, the kind of caring role that you do in society.
"But I think people are becoming more and more aware of the importance of that role. I think this is a really good step by LinkedIn and I think it really shows that society is kind of changing in its attitude."
