Sinn Fein is still the most popular party in the country but has dropped two points in this latest poll to 29%.

Support for Fine Gael has also fallen by 1 to 21%, while Fianna Fail's gained one to 19.

It's a strong showing for the Social Democrats who are on their highest ever rating - they're up 5 to 9%, after Holly Cairns took over as leader of the party.

The Sunday Independent/ Ireland Thinks March Poll shows the Independents are unchanged on 10, and there's no change either for the Greens on 4.

Aontu and Labour are both down 1 to 3%, while Solidarity People Before Profit has dropped one to 2.

The poll was carried out on March 3rd with a sample size of 1,162 people.
