''Stronger employee retention incentives will be put in place''.

The Wage Subsidy Scheme has been increased by 15% for low-income earners.

Anyone earning up to €24,400, who is being paid through the scheme, is now guaranteed at least 85% of their income.

For workers earning up to €31,000 euro per year, the subsidy will now be up to €350 per week.

Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe is encouraging employers to continue topping up wages.

''Stronger employee retention incentives will be put in place'', he said.

''Allowing net wages to be topped up by employers beyond 100% of previous net wages, up to a maximum of €350 a week without the subsidy being tapered back''.
